A message from Chris Aylett, CEO of MIA:
As I speak to many MIA members, it is pleasing to hear that many are still enjoying a real boom to their business. No-one is getting over-confident – cash is still king and caution the by-word.
Today we see our three USA visits to California, Indianapolis and Charlotte underway, seeking new business and finding new exports. As soon as we return, we take a group to the Le Mans international business days prior to the big race in France - a great way to find new French customers...More here

Motorsport to Space?
The MIA members business networking event supported by Jonathan Lee Recruitment was held last Tuesday at the International Space Innovation Centre in Harwell. The event was highly informative and generated a lot of interest to our members, who were very keen to develop contacts within Science Technology Facilities Council. As a result of this successful event we are hoping to create an ‘exhibition of capability’ in the centre of Harwell, in autumn this year.

The hosting Science & Technology Council guided MIA Members through the Rutherford Appleton Laboratories where they saw an incredible display of high technology research projects that really tested our technical knowledge and intelligence. It was extremely encouraging to know that GB is still at the forefront of advanced technology and is significantly contributing to some of the key global research projects as well as spawning some very advanced products for the commercial market" Jonathan Lee, Jonathan Lee Recruitment (official sponsor)

Jaguar Land Rover Event - 12th May 2011 “What better way to kick-start the Motorsport to Automotive initiative, than hold the first event right at the technological heart of Jaguar Land Rover. Interest in our low-friction, high load gear and engine oils was overwhelming, which shows the potential for such energy-saving products in ecologically aware times. Drawbacks? None – except I’m now busier than ever!” Nevil Hall, Millers Oils (official sponsor) "The MIA's initiative to expand their presence in the mainstream automotive market took a big step forward last Thursday with an inaugural Members Showcase event at the Jaguar Design Centre at Whitley, Coventry. The event was attended by 100 MIA members representing over 40 companies. They displayed their products and services and discussed their capabilities to 200 Jaguar LandRover staff. The event is the first of many and hopefully will be followed by a similar event at Gaydon soon" Jonathan Lee, Jonathan Lee Recruitment (official sponsor) |
